THINKING GLOBALLY, ACTING LOCALLY

Massey High School 350 Campaign

Delhi, Copenhagen, Massey.

Students from Massey High School really put Massey on the world map on 23 October 2009 when they turned out in force to show their support for the 350 campaign. The campaign highlights the need for world leaders to reach an international agreement to reduce carbon emissions, with 5245 actions carried out in 181 countries.

Over 2000 Massey High students and staff formed a huge “3” that joined with figures from Delhi and Copenhagen as part of the ‘world’s most widespread day of political action’.

At one point the 350 campaign was the top story on CNN, The New York Times, Le Monde and Google News and the photos, including those from Massey High School, were delivered to the Secretary General of the UN.

Clearly the students of Massey High School have shown you can have your say and if you are passionate about something your message will be heard. For more information about 350 visit www.350.org.
