TravelWise - Thinking Transport
Almost everyone is involved in some kind of travel every day – whether it’s travelling to work, school, the shops, sport or the movies. But when did you last think about how you travelled? For lots of Aucklanders, jumping in the car is the easy way. They see it as quick, safe and trouble-free. But the more people drive, the more clogged the roads become. And the more time you spend in traffic, the more pollution you breathe in and the more expensive petrol you waste. There’s got to be a better way.
That’s where TravelWise comes in. Auckland’s TravelWise team works with communities, schools and workplaces to improve travel choices and to make it easier for people like you to get out of the car and into passenger transport, onto a bike, or off for a walk. So before you reach for the car keys, think:
 | | Is it easier to walk?
| | | Can I share a ride with someone?
| | | Where's my nearest train station?
| | | When was the last time I rode a bike?
| | | Which buses go past my house?
|
TravelWise will help you find the answers. You will be surprised by what you learn.
